A letter to Our President

I wonder if our President really IS our President? He certainly doesn't seem to have our interests or our feelings as American citizens in the forefront of his thoughts at all.

I wrote him a letter. I feel reasonably sure it will be the catalyst for having my home bugged, my name put on a watch list of some sort and the means for harassing my family for a millennium.

It is as follows:

Mr. President,

I saw your message of support for the mosque at or near the Ground Zero site where the 9-11 Terrorist Activities killed 3,000 American citizens by those espousing the radical message of Islam.

While it is true that our nation was founded on religious freedom, it is equally true that we have zoning ordinances and variances in EVERY CITY in the United States.
People protest the buildings of EVERY religion when they feel they are not harmonious with the neighborhood or the area.

To violate the tender feelings of those who feel that this area is a sacred spot which should be dedicated to the memory of those Americans who lost their lives in a senseless act of brutality by your support of an "in your face" religion that promulgates the notion that if we are not Muslim we are worthy of death is not only a slap in the face of the survivors of those who perished due to the 9-11 attacks, but is also spitting on the very graves of those whose blood made that site sacred.

There is plenty of real estate in New York. This is a shameless celebratory act of retribution for all those who are fighting against the terrorists who would dismantle our freedoms.

I cannot change your mind for you, for I believe you are Muslim yourself and bent on destroying our nation in plays carefully calculated to seem reasonable to those who are not paying attention.

But, in writing this, I want to express to you how wrong this is and how, once again, I am disappointed in your choice to put Muslim interests above the interests and feelings of EVERYONE who says "NO" to this group and their plans.

GOD BLESS AMERICA and may He help you see things more clearly.

Of course, the man himself will never see this, as I am quite certain his lackeys and paid sycophants will take care of it so all that crosses his desk will be messages of love, adultation, praise and worship.

What kind of person can't take the truth? The kind that only understands the hissing tongues of those who are blindly, lemming-like following in his wake as if his every orifice beams with the brilliance of a million suns.

The fact is that this man who holds the office has no idea what it means to be a president. He doesn't respect all that went into making our nation... not just the bad... but the good and glorious, too. He has no understanding that the American history he so readily spits upon and publicly vilifies is the very history that allowed him the opportunity to sit his ass in the seat he now occupies in his unworthy state.

I am sick of his subservient bowing and scraping to heads of state in other nations. Our flag doesn't bow itself to anyone and neither should our President! Our nation isn't beneath any other nation - we should be equals with no one lapping at the feet of another.

But this man feels America has a lot for which we need to be chastened and punished by the world court of opinion. He claims that we deserve to be savaged, wounded and beaten for an egregious arrogance that he alone sees. He claims that we should apologize for showing our riches and ambition to the humble people of the rest of the world, conveniently forgetting that our nation feeds, clothes and provides medical assistance to every nation regardless of politics. Nasty evil Americans! Coming in to save the downtrodden is wrong unless the despots say we should... we should be punished for arrogantly assuming the people WANTED our help. We should let them all die.

In answer to his continued 'apology tour' I'll paraphrase a statement I heard elsewhere, I would say to those in the nations of the world, "Don't you think your own nation is the best one on the earth? Well, we believe OUR nation is the best!"

We do not owe apologies for seeing and appreciating the greatness that built our country.

We do not owe subservience to other nations that would have us to destroy our national sovereignty for their own ambitions of dividing and conquering the sea to shining sea land mass that would be the footstool of a despotic and evil government.

We are not terrorists, but in his administration, we are being made to apologize to the terrorists for defending our nation and the weak peoples in other nations who have no voice to shout against the evils that prevent them from walking in the light of Liberty's torch.

Our nation is in trouble. We have forgotten God who blessed and enriched us and who, even today in our forgetful state, blesses us to even have air with which to draw a breath. He will still be our protector if only we will turn to Him and repent for our neglectful state. Jesus can still heal us all...

But our President isn't listening. And like it or not, the example from the top does matter. He makes religious matters politically incorrect and laughable. He makes common sense out to be a ridiculous exercise in backwards thinking. He uses the good in people to get what he wants, then casts them aside when his personal ambition wants more.

I can respect the office because it does NOT belong to him, it belongs to our nation. But I cannot respect the man. I find in him nothing worthy of acceptation or adulation.

He is a facade of reality and thus, not useful to the rest of us who inhabit the real world. We need less an orater and more a president who might not always get the words right, but in whom we see actions that are spot on.

I hope he reads my letter. It would be worth whatever consequences I might receive just to have some dialogue with this self-absorbed man in whom there is nothing worthy of emulation.
